Master of Science in

Civil Engineering (MSCE)

Master of Science in Civil Engineering is designed to produce graduates with enhanced knowledge in the fields of:

1. Structural Engineering

2. Geotechnical Engineering

3. Hydraulics and Irrigation Engineering

4. Environmental Engineering

The degree program focuses on providing skills required in different fields of Civil Engineering. The students will study eight subjects consisting of four from each core and elective courses in addition to a six credit hours research thesis mentioned in the curriculum approved by the academic council.
The programme shall have a minimum of three year supervised study period that may be extended to a maximum of seven years towards successful completion of all requirements and award of the Master’s Degree. Under the programme, student is required to undertake minimum of a 24 credit hours of courses work and 6 credit hours of research depending upon the area of specialization thus making a total of minimum 30 credit hours while maximum of 6 credit hours shall be allowed per semester.  The duration of the semester would be 16 to 18 weeks.

Requirements

Minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system or 60% marks in Annual system in BSc Civil Engineering for all four disciplines. However for the Environmental Engineering programme, students with Bachelors degree in engineering from other disciplines such as environmental, chemical and other related may be considered on case-by-case basis

Minimum Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) score 50%

The students of the graduate program will be well equipped with the knowledge of Civil Engineering and research jobs in Government and Public Sector, departments, industries, research centers and technical institutions.
